Caitriona Balfe recently sat down with Variety wherein she shared some details about Sam Heughan and the upcoming "Outlander" Season 3. When asked about the things that fans should expect to happen in the third installment, the actress straightforwardly said that Claire Fraser and Jamie are totally going to be reunited.
The Season 2 finale had fans devastated especially when everything went south for Claire and Jamie after the former decided to reunite with first husband named Frank (Tobias Menzies). Alone and pregnant, "Outlander" Season 3 actress Caitriona Balfe's character had continued her life with Frank until she was reunited with Jamie (Sam Heughan).
Jamie then convinced Claire to return to her own time so she could protect their unborn baby. Though they the characters of Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan were 20 years apart at that time, the two did everything so they could be reunited together along with their upcoming bundle of joy and their story will be continued in "Outlander" Season 3.
"I think both of them have probably held each other up on a pedestal for 20 years," Caitriona Balfe stated of her and Sam Heughan's characters in "Outlander" Season 3. She added: "so in many ways, they're going to have to destroy that image first before they can fall in love with the person right in front of them, and that's going to be really interesting."

Meanwhile, Showbiz Maven has previously reported that Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan could be dating in real life. According to the entertainment news website, eyewitnesses have spotted the two "Outlander" Season 3 stars getting so cozy on the set of the popular TV series.
"Sam and Caitriona were taking a short break between scenes when I saw them off to the side, holding hands and Sam was even whispering in her ear," the unnamed source told Celeb Dirty Laundry of "Outlander" Season 3 stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan. "She was laughing at whatever he said and well, they looked like an ordinary couple."
