Will there be a "Person of Interest" Season 6? If fans had their way, there should be, they're simply not done watching the highly entertaining AI themed series.
That is series finally wrapped up with the season 5 finale shown last June 21, 2016. However a group of fans banded together demanding that there should be a "Person Of Interest' Season 6.
Fan Pleads For "Person of Interest" Season 6
Expressing their opinion that five seasons are not enough for a show of its calibre, fans started a Save Person of Interest petition. It was started by Person of Interest fan Kaily Russell and now has more than 48 thousand supporters.
In the letter, Russell pleaded with the powers that be to resurrect the series for at least one more season, a "Person of Interest" Season 6. She cited that the show had such a large base spanning from the U.S. to China, Turkey and France. And this could be her strongest point. After all, why bet on a new show that could flop when the network can always count on the large and established fan base "Person of Interest?"
Actually, Russell was not very particular which network air the "Person of Interest" Season 6. In addition, she also wants to bring back the characters that she loved, even if it means that season 5 has to be retold in a different manner.
"We've been fighting to keep this show alive and would love to see another network pick it up, even if its' just for one more season. Don't let a show we love so much disappear. And that includes all characters, Reese, Finch, Fusco, Root, Shaw, and Bear! We want either a redo of season 5, an alternate universe, a spin off, anything where we can have the whole cast return," states Russell's petition.
Rumored "Person of Interest" Spinoff
Russell and other fans might just get their wish if recent rumors are indeed true. According to Cinema Blend, "Person of Interest" season 5 finale contains a hint that its showrunners might have planned for a spinoff all along.
According to "Person of Interest" rumors, the hint is in the season 5 finale itself. Sameen Shaw's smiled enigmatically when answered a phone call which got fans speculating what it meant.
"Person of Interest" creator Jonathan Nolan explained that because of the editing done later, the message was not very clearly conveyed to the audience. Nolan says that the smile meant that the relationship will "continue in this new form - and that the franchise continues. It felt to us not like a naked attempt to try to build a spinoff."
