Microsoft's big announcement of the Xbox One Scorpio back in last month's E3 got fans both excited and reeling.
The company is touting it as the "most powerful console ever made," and that'll surely make fanboys drool, but at the same time, it's also been only less than two years since the Xbox One came out. People who spent a lot of money getting it over the past couple of years might feel a little shortchanged that a better version is coming out so soon.
However, Xbox players have nothing to fear; according to Gamespot, the Xbox One Scorpio will still be subject to trade-in discounts at game retailers when you turn in your older console. Microsoft is hard at work to make sure that the transition between Xbox One to the Xbox One Scorpio will be as seamless as possible.
They've already begun this by making sure the Xbox One Scorpio is fully compatible with everything you've had for the original Xbox One. You can play Xbox One games on the Scorpio and use the same controllers as well—and even though not trading those in will result in you paying more upfront for the Scorpio, at least you wouldn't have to buy completely new games and peripherals.
A slimmer version of the Xbox One, the Xbox One S, will also be debuting a little earlier than the Xbox One Scorpio in August. It's also presumed that players will also be able to trade in their consoles for the Xbox One S.
The Xbox One Scorpio features eight cores, 320 GB memory bandwidth, and the ability to play in full 4K resolution. As of now, there are no updates on the possible suggested retail price of the Scorpio, but we'll let you know as soon as we find out.
