UFC stars Ronda Rousey and Georges St-Pierre may have been out of the Octagon for a while, but fans can see them again soon in "The Hurt Business."
The sport documentary features the rise of mixed martial arts (MMA) fighting in the perspectives of the industry's top stars at present.
"The Hurt Business" features current and former MMA legends like Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz, Jon "Bones" Jones, Rousey and St-Pierre, among others, who ponder on how the sport transformed from a being a glorified bar brawl into becoming one of the most popular events in the world.
The fighters also discuss the brutal training, their state of mind while preparing and fighting and the kind of violence that they subject themselves to throughout their respective careers.
"The Hurt Business" is expected to unveil huge surprises for both fans and new viewers.
Entertainment Weekly revealed that "The Hurt Business" was directed by sports documentarian Vlad Yudin. Jim Czarnecki served as co-producer. Kevin Costner narrated the film.
The documentary stars Ronda Rousey and Georges St-Pierre, former champions who became worldwide phenomena because of their domination in the sport. The two will share their testimonials that will uncover the brutal aspect of the business.
IMDb noted that other cast members include Bas Rutten, Kenny Florian, announcer Bruce Buffer, Ken Shamrock, referee "Big" John McCarthy, Urijah Faber, Rashad Evans and Mike Guymon.
In the trailer of "The Hurt Business," St-Pierre said that he actually does not enjoy hurting people. Rousey explained that she only aims to be the best in the world.
MMA fighting is not exclusively for men or women. She describes the sport as natural and that we are all compelled to do it. Other fighters talked about how MMA changed their lives and how it is an art in its own sense.
Others shared their fears of suffering brain damage and other health conditions, and destroying their families due to the long term consequences of fighting.
"The Hurt Business" also highlights some of the best moments in the sport and how MMA fighters live their lives outside the Octagon or deal with devastating defeats.
The movie also focuses on the long-term mental and physical effects that fighters may suffer as a result of intense training and in-ring violence.
"The Hurt Business" has not official release date at the moment, but it is expected to launch sometime in fall 2016. More updates and details are expected soon.
