Tell the Covenant and the Flood to take a hike, grab a sneek peek at the new enemies of Halo 4, the Prometheans, courtesy of allgamesbeta.com.
Of the Prometheans that have been revealed so far, eight classes have been seen:
* Knight
* Knight Lancer
* Knight Commander
* Knight Battlewagon
* Watcher
* Crawler
* Alpha Crawler
* Crawler Sniper
Take a look at 'em below!
What's known so far is that the Prometheans were a highly respected group of warriors in the Forerunner empire. Knights take on the role of captains of the Promethean forces. Watchers do just that, watch while flying above the battle, acting as medics and laying down shields when necesarry. Crawlers are the grunts of the Promethean forces, attacking in packs.
Alongside the enemies, there's also their selected weaponry, which was seen at Halo 4's first gameplay trailer at E3 over the summer:
* Boltshot
* Binary Rifle
* Incineration Cannon
* Lightrifle
* Suppressor
* Scattershot
* Pulse grenade
Pictures below!
Knights use the suppressor and lightrifles predominantly, knight commanders carry the incineration cannon, and crawlers use the boltshot to snipe from a distance.
All this forerunner weaponry joins the UNSC weapons like the magnum, battle rifle, the single shot DMR, rocket launcher, shotgun, sniper rifle, sticky detonator, SAW, Spartan laser, and a classic for FPS deathmatches, the railgun. You can watch a trailer of the UNSC Weapons here. Suffice it to say, there's going to be a lot of interesting firefights when Halo 4 is out.
The eight installment of the series, and the beginning of a new trilogy, Halo 4 will be released worldwide on Nov. 6, 2012, for the Xbox 360.
