Michael Schumacher fans continue to hope for the best for the retired German racing star and that includes getting credible updates. Unfortunately, Schumacher’s family will continue to stick to their old stand – keeping things private.
Word of such comes no less from Michael Schumacher’s manager and designated spokesperson Sabine Kehm who reiterated that any update on the F1 racing legend will continue to be kept to a minimum per Fox Sports.
Kehm and the Schumacher family have been hit by criticism left and right following the meager updates tied up to Michael Schumacher. The 47-year-old racing legend continues to undergo rehabilitation at his Lake Geneva mansion following a horrific skiing accident back in 2013.
"We just have to accept that the family wants to continue to protect their privacy," explained Kehm to a local newspaper. "Of course, Michael will not disappear but at the moment the private situation is so difficult that unfortunately no insight can be given. There must be understanding for this."
Kehm was speaking at an event meant to launch an upcoming charity football match ahead of the German Grand Prix where Michael Schumacher will be honored.
No significant progress
To date, there has been no significant progress on Michael Schumacher that is worth noting. The last one came in 2014 when Schumi was transferred from a French hospital to his home. Only his family, close friends and select medical people have been around the fallen driver.
After being initially placed in an induced coma due to brain injuries, Michael Schumacher emerged from it in June. At that time, Dr. Jean-Francois Payen, head of anesthesiology at Grenoble University Hospital, believed that the racing legend could recover in three years time.
The three-year time frame is fast approaching but nothing near good progress on Michael Schumacher has yet to be divulged. Unconfirmed reports claim that Schumacher is able to respond through tears whenever he hears the voice of his wife and children.
