“Gotham” season 3 is expected to highlight new villains, most likely originating from that runaway van that “Fish Mooney” (Jada Pinkett-Smith) was driving away from Arkham Asylum.
In what seemed more like an offshoot from “The Walking Dead”, the fact remains that new monsters (villains) courtesy of “Doctor Hugo Strange” (BD Wong). Before “Gotham” season 2 came to a close, there were the notable ‘special’ powered villains. Season 3 is expected to showcase a whole lot more.
To answer the question of who, “Gotham” executive producer Danny Cannon may have just spilled some of the things to come via social medium Twitter. Filming for “Gotham” season 3 has begun so the tweets could be a sign of things to expect this September on Fox.
To date, it has been confirmed that among the new villains appearing on “Gotham” season 3 include the “Mad Hatter”, the “Tweedle Brothers”, “Talon” and “Solomon Grundy” per CBR. “Poison Ivy” is another villain expected to be back as well.
“Fish” back on top?
Of the mix, it will be interesting to see what role a returning “Fish Mooney” will have next season per TV Line. After starting out as one of the big bosses, she continues to show her feistiness and wit. Currently on the run, Mooney seems to be looking for her old comrades.
Likely at the top of the list is “Butch Gilzean” (Drew Powell) who is now in cahoots with “Oswald Cobblepot” aka “Penguin” (Robin Lord Taylor). Will we see yet another alliance? Or will someone take the fall?
Don’t forget the “Riddler”
Towards the end of season 2, the rise of “Edward Nygma” (Cory Michael Smith) to the dark side was evident. Will he continue to wreak havoc on Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) or maybe even the young “Bruce Wayne” (David Mazouz)?
There are a lot of stones to be turned on “Gotham” so be sure to catch it when it returns in the Fall.
