These righteous souls are the protectors of the innocent. These proud and brave men and women are Marvel Heroes.
Marvel Heroes, which was originally known as Marvel Universe Online and Marvel Universe, is a massively multiplayer online game currently under development by Gazillion Entertainment, and Secret Identity Studios.
The MMO will feature characters such as Iron Man, Captain America, Deadpool and Wolverine. These Marvel mainstays will serve as characters that players can unlock in the game. The lead writer of the game is Ultimate Spider-Man writer Brian Michael Bendis and the plot will revolve around the super villain Doctor Doom.
Marvel Heroes will feature gameplay that is very similar to the hack and slash series Diablo. Marvel Heroes is a free-to-play game, but micro-transactions will be used to fund and support the game. Players will not need to spend money to access the full game, but can upgrade and advance faster with these purchased upgrades.
The game supports a large cast of heroes for players to choose ranging from well-known and iconic heroes such as Iron Man and Spider-Man to lesser-known and obscure heroes such as Rocket Raccoon and Nova. The new "Hell's Kitchen" trailer announces three new playable characters for Marvel Heroes - Daredevil, Punisher and Squirrel Girl.
Here are the playable heroes: Black Panther, Black Widow, Cable, Captain America, Colossus, Cyclops, Daredevil, Deadpool, Emma Frost, Hawkeye, Hulk, Human Torch, Iron Man, Ka-Zar, Ms. Marvel, Nova, The Punisher, Rocket Raccoon, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Squirrel Girl, Storm, Thing, Thor and Wolverine.
So far the villains that have been shown in early gameplay footage, trailers and promotional artwork are Dr. Doom, Magneto, Rhino, Taskmaster, Bullseye, Elektra, Mr. Sinister, Shocker and the Kingpin, who is mentioned by name in the new trailer.
