OnePlus X Latest News and Updates: Stocks To Be Replenished In Limited Quantities

The OnePlus X is not yet totally dead after the company responded to possible end of life rumors tied up to non-availability of the mid-range phone.

The OnePlus X was presumed dead following customer reports that they were informed via email of retailers no longer stocking up on the said device via the One Plus forums. The messages also claimed that customers who were not able to get their devices would be given special discounts and refunds.

Blame it on the OnePlus 3

Belief that the OnePlus X was already shelved was tied up with the unfortunate plight of the company’s flagship, the OnePlus 3. The latest OnePlus flagship model didn’t quite uphold the company’s tradition. The device was plagued with hardware issues and gained heavy criticism for price hikes covering the UK market.

Not totally gone yet

With that said, may were under the impression that OnePlus was trying to cut back. Among the phones the company had, the OnePlus X was seen as the logical choice per Slash Gear.

The OnePlus One would have been a candidate considering it has been around the longest. But based on customer reception and sales performance, the OnePlus One still stood out.

With the OnePlus 3 floundering, the OnePlus Two is technically the best device the company has to offer to date.

OnePlus X replenishments in limited numbers

Android Authority took the liberty of touching base with OnePlus and the whole issue was somehow settled. The company has not killed the OnePlus X yet and that limited quantities will be coming soon.

As far as which handset would be killed off, that distinction will be on the OnePlus X Champagne. Per the company’s official statement, the Champagne version is officially sold out but no replenishment is planned for the variant.

Temporary reprieve for OnePlus X

The OnePlus X may have dodged the bullet this time around but the fact that it will be out in limited quantities is not a good sign. The move may be seen as something to address remaining demand with its future still in question.
