One-Punch Man will be arriving on Adult Swim's Toonami soon. The anime superhero's lines will also be dubbed in English for Western audiences.
During the Anime Expo, Viz Media announced that "One-Punch Man," their hit anime, will be dubbed in the English language and premiere on Adult Swim in the middle of July 2016.
Polygon notes that "One-Punch Man" started in a webcomic and parodies several martial arts and superhero anime. The setting is in an alternate world where Japan is full of superheroes and powerful monsters.
The titular hero in the series is Saitama, an extraordinary human who can defeat his enemies with a single punch. He protects the City of Z from the monsters and other dangerous foes.
One of Saitama's biggest issues is getting bored, since he can easily win over anyone, so he describes himself as a guy who is just a hero for fun.
"One-Punch Man" was first seen in 2009, created by the author known as One. The character turned out to be hugely popular among manga readers.
In 2012, Yusuke Manata re-illustrated the series to digitally run on Young Jump Web Comics. In 2015, the anime adaptation was made by Viz Media and written by Tomohiro Suzuki.
ComicBookResources cited that the start of the story dubbed in English will feature Saitama finishing his special training after three years and becoming a hero.
Because of his ability to take out opponents with only one blow, he is losing his passion along with his hair. He may not be able to hold out for long.
In fall 2015, all "One-Punch Man" episodes can be streamed with English subtitles at the same time that the Japanese versions launched on TV.
The series' premiere on Adult Swim will be the first time that the series will be dubbed in English. Saitama will be voiced by veteran Max Mittelman and Genos, Saitama's disciple, will be voiced by Zach Aguilar.
The hero Mumen Rider will be voiced by Robbie Daymond, while Erik Kimerer will voice act Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, Saitama's self-proclaimed nemesis.
