"Sea of Thieves" is coming to this year's San Diego Comic Con (SDCC). The international convention is set to officially begin on July 21 and will end on July 24. There will also be a preview night scheduled on July 20.
On July 6, game developer Rare Ltd. confirmed their participation in the annual convention through the company's official Twitter page. "We're pleased to announce that there will be a #SeaOfThieves panel at #SDCC!," they tweeted.
Rare also revealed that they are giving away exclusive gift to everyone who will attend the "Sea of Thieves" event at the 2016 SDCC. As written on the announcement, the studio will present an Art and Illustration and Video Game programs on July 21 at Room 24ABC of the San Diego Convention Center. The event will start at 10:30 and will run for just an hour.
During the program, attendants will get to know more about the "Sea of Thieves" as the team behind it will talk about their immense interest in pirates. They will also share how they are creating a fancy surreal world and developing such a perennial genre.
When fans learned that Rare is joining the comic-con in San Diego, the first thing that they want to know was, whether the release date for "Sea of Thieves" is going to be announced at the convention. So far, fans of the game only know that it will come out in 2017 but the exact date is still a mystery.
It was revealed at the 2016 E3 that the game will be exclusively released on two platforms which include Windows PC and Xbox One. It is also playable on Xbox Play Anywhere which will give the gamer the advantage to play the game in both the console and PC.
Meanwhile, players can now pre-order at Amazon for $59.99. For buyers in UK, they can pre-order "Sea of Thieves" via Game. It was noted that the Xbox One version is slightly cheaper that the PC version.
