Thousands of fans are now excited for the upcoming premiere of the "Avatar 2" movie. However, new reports are claiming that the "Avatar" sequel will have to face another delay to make way for the upcoming "Star Wars Episode 8" film.

ChattSportsNet has reported that "Avatar 2" fans will have to wait a little longer as the franchise gives way to the much-awaited "Star Wars Episode 8" movie. According to reports, director James Cameron has revealed that he is doing everything to make the upcoming "Avatar 2" film.
James Cameron has also hinted that the production team is very worried that "Avatar 2" would not meet the expectations of several fans. It is widely known that the first "Avatar" movie had received tons of positive reviews since its debut. In fact, it was even named as one of the highest-grossing films of all time.
Aside from that, "Avatar 2" director James Cameron has also said that he does not want to compete with "Star Wars Season 8" that is why he is not yet working on the movie until now. He said he does not want "Avatar 2" to land on the same release date with the "Star Wars Episode 8" movie.
"My original plan was to release them a year apart, but we're opening that up. If for no other reason than that I don't want to land on the same date as one of the 'Star Wars' sequels," "Avatar 2" director James Cameron said of the upcoming franchise sequels, as reported by Headlines & Global News. "That wouldn't be fair to them."
New villains, settings and stories to be featured in 'Avatar 2'
Meanwhile, GamenGuide has previously reported that new villains, settings and stories are coming in the "Avatar 2" movie. As a matter of fact, the human versus nature theme is said to be retained in the movie.
Among the characters that will appear in "Avatar 2" are Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang. Rumor has it that Sigourney Weaver will be reprising her role as Dr. Grace Augustine and she is expected to help Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) again.
Stephen Lang, on the other hand, will be back as Col. Miles Quaritch who is said to become one of the lead stars in the "Avatar 2" and its upcoming sequels. Other news have said that "Avatar" will have a total of four sequels.
