This is Daniel Radcliffe like no one has ever seen him before: a kickass FBI agent who's undercover in a violent White Supremacy group whose goal is domestic terrorism. The heart-stopping trailer shows Radcliffe as Nate Foster, a reluctant agent who dives head-first into a group of neo-Nazi fanatics who plan to start ignite chaos in local shores.
Radcliffe is seen shaving his head after he accepts the assignment from Toni Collette's Angela Zamparo, a case agent and supervisor. The trailer also gives us a glimpse of "True Blood"'s Sam Trammell and Chris Sullivan. Check out the trailer below.
Daniel Ragussis makes his directorial debut with "Imperium," which is " inspired by real events and co-written by Michael German, a former agent who spent years inside the neo-Nazi movement." He explained to Entertainment Weekly that it was important to him to create a well-researched film, and collaborating with German was of key importance. The film is based on real life events, and it is safe to assume that these events were ones that German experienced himself.
Ragussis said that aside from capturing the authenticity of what it means to be a White Supremacist and how their communities operate, he believes that creating this film is very timely, given the events plaguing the world today.
"I learned from Michael that actual undercover agents are primarily master manipulators—able to win confidences, control situations, and out-think the enemy, even when mortal danger is staring them in the face," Ragussis shared. The film is produced by Simon Taufique, Dennis Lee, and Ty Walker alongside Ragussis. Lionsgate Premiere is distributing the film, which is produced by Grindstone Entertainment Group.
"Imperium" will be released in theaters and on demand this August 19.
