Halo 4 Story Details Leaked In New Developer Diary Trailer (Watch Here)

A new developer diary by Halo 4's 343 Industries takes in-depth look at the work of the artists and actors who animate the Master Chief and Cortana. But the video leaked some important plot details.

A brief screenshot of Halo 4's script is visible in the video diary and has been read and transcribed by Neogaf, revealing a number of plot details about the upcoming game. The trailer reveal was first reported by IGN.

Halo 4 is the eighth installment, the best-selling Halo franchise and is the start of a new trilogy. The game is also the first original Halo game in the main series not to be developed by series creator Bungie and instead is being developed by 343 Industries.

The developer's diary also explains that the studio has decided to expand on the character of Master Chief and further develop the stoic and often silent protagonist of the series. The studio, 343 Industries want to tell a story about how Spartan John-117 deals with his own humanity and by doing so bring the gamer into his emotional journey.

The detail seen in the script details events regarding the Covenants' search for an ancient Forerunner weapons cache, and details regarding a Forerunner called Didact, whom the covenant believe to be a living god.

Some of the details deciphered by Neogaf appear to be confirmed by an Amazon's listing for the tie-book "The Thursday War, "which allows a look inside the book.

The book's prologue details how the dynamics of the Halo universe since the defeat of the flood and covenant in the original trilogy have changed. The new book will be released on Oct. 2, and has a list price of $15.99.

Halo 4 will release on Xbox 360 on Nov. 6, 2012.
