PAX Prime Attendants Help Nintendo and Kirby Pop a Guinness World Record

The Guinness world record that Nintendo and Kirby fans set out to break at PAX Prime has officially been smashed.

A total of 536 people gathered together to break the record for "most people simultaneously blowing a chewing gum bubble," not quite doubling the old record of 304. Take THAT Kirkwood Community College of Cedar Rapids, Iowa!

The record-breaking attempt was Nintendo's method of celebrating 20 years of one of their famed mascots, Kirby, for which they also plan on releasing Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition. The collection brings together six of pink fluff's past titles over the last two decades, released on everything from the original Game Boy, NES, Super Nintendo, and the Nintendo 64:

- Kirby's Adventure
- Kirby's Super Star
- Kirby's Dream Land
- Kirby's Dream Land 2
- Kirby's Dream Land 3
- Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

Since the marshmallow's debut in 1992's Kirby's Dream Land for the Game Boy, Kirby has been featured in over twenty titles, including remakes, puzzlers, and racers. He also stars in his own anime series based on the games. He's among Nintendo's best selling franchises, with over twenty million games sold all over the world. Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition releases September 16 for the Nintendo Wii.
