"The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is set to launch later in 2016. There are rumors that the Harry Potter spinoff may become a trilogy.
Author J.K. Rowling currently has a lot of projects after her successful wizarding saga. The eighth part of the series is currently in development.
Also, Rowling confirmed that "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will have a part two, leading many to believe that the upcoming film will actually be a trilogy.
Independent revealed that according to director David Yates, Rowling is already done writing the second version and has more ideas for the third.
It will be the first time that Rowling has written a screenplay and it appears that the author is having a great time on the new project, considering that the first and second versions are allegedly already finished.
The recent accomplishments by Rowling can also mean that Warner Bros. may release the second film no longer than two years from the first, or in 2018.
The director told GSNews about the difference between working on the previous "Harry Potter" film and the "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" plot.
He described how they need to leave out certain things that they do not like because these do not fit within the structure of the narrative for the movie or would make the film run for too long.
He said that, this time, the story from the first to the last page would be just how Rowling envisioned it. Fans are expected experience more adventures with the new main protagonist and uncover more secrets in the Potter-verse.
WeGotThisCovered stated that the "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" story is set in 1926 and focuses on Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), who was established in the Harry Potter series as a Hogwarts textbook author.
Newt is particularly interested in various escaped creatures and hunts for them in different locations. He also has a companion, namely the non-magical American Jacob (Dan Fogler).
Other cast members who will appear in the movie include Katherine Waterston, Samantha Morton, Ron Perlman, Jon Voight, Ezra Miller, Carmen Ejogo, Faith Wood-Blagrove, Colin Farrell and Jenn Murray.
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," starring Eddie Redmayne, will launch in the United Kingdom on Nov. 18, 2016.
More updates and details are expected soon. In the meantime, fans can look forward to David Yates' Tarzan film, starring Alexander Skarsgard.
