"Person of Interest" Season 5 may be the last for the CBS series, but that hasn't stopped fans from hoping that they haven't seen the last of The Machine. There are speculations that Shaw will continue working with The Machine in a "Person of Interest" spinoff show!
Will Shaw And The Machine Star In The "Person Of Interest" Spinoff Series?
In the "Person of Interest" Season 5 finale, Shaw received a mysterious call from a pay phone. The scene immediately brought back memories of Reese's initial phone call from the pilot episode.
So did the scene from the Season 5 finale mean that Shaw will star in the rumored "Person of Interest" spinoff series? Show creator Jonathan Nolan teased that it is possible, because that's exactly what they wanted the fans to think.
"The clear implication is that that relationship [between Shaw and The Machine] continues in this new form --- and that the franchise continues," Nolan told CinemaBlend. "It felt to us not like a naked attempt to try to build a spinoff."
It's an exciting revelation for "Person of Interest" fans, who have been hoping that it isn't the end for the series. But there's just one important thing that the spinoff should probably include as well.
Will Harold Finch Reunite With The Machine In The "Person Of Interest" Spinoff Series?
Shaw was not the only one who had a happy ending in the "Person of Interest" Season 5 finale. Harold Finch finally returned to Grace and it looks like he might have turned his back on The Machine's missions for good.
Or did he? Most fans simply cannot imagine the "Person of Interest" spinoff series without Michael Emerson or his brilliant character. Hopefully, the new show will still have Finch to support Shaw in her missions.
Can The "Person Of Interest" Spinoff Series Survive Without Reese?
Sure, Reese was one of the most important players in "Person of Interest". However, the show has evolved over the years and new, interesting characters were introduced.
There is little doubt that Shaw can singlehandedly carry the "Person of Interest" spinoff series. Now it's up to the producers to get working on the new show.
