“Arrow” has a lot of work to do to appease disappointed fans for its fifth season. The coming season will reportedly see less magic and more grounded villains in the mix though nothing has been revealed just yet.
That was until recently when the show producers backtracked a bit on what “Arrow” star Stephen Amell did outside the TV screen. This is with reference to that feud he and former WWE star Cody Rhodes had to arrange a showdown at WWE SummerSlam last year.
Rematch under a different setting in 'Arrow' Season 5
There were calls for a possible rematch between Amell and Rhodes but all that fizzled when “Stardust” had a falling out with the company recently. Rhodes continues to wrestle via the independent route though that rematch with “Arrow” could happen on the actual TV show.
Rhodes hinted at such on TVLine though he will not be able to use the same “Stardust” character name. All that will reportedly take place by the third episode of “Arrow” season 5 which may be a one-episode appearance.
New Career Opportunity for Cody Rhodes in 'Arrow' Season 5?
If his performance in the WWE as far as rendering “Stardust” is concerned, it will be interesting what role Rhodes will end up with.
The word out right now is that he could possibly portray an original character made for the lone episode according to Screen Rant.
Depending on how Rhodes performs, there is a chance that it may not be a one episode deal. If his performance draws raves, he could be a semi-regular. Looking beyond that, he may even end up appearing on other shows (via crossovers) like the “Flash” or “Legends of Tomorrow”.
On top of it all, it will be interesting if inserting Rhodes will help appease the fans. Though it remains a one episode deal for now, it could have a big impact on the show moving forward.
