Shortly after the unveiling of "Injustice 2" at the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 2016) last month, NetherRealm's creative director Ed Boon hinted something great about "Mortal Kombat X's" new downloadable content.
According to Attack of the Fanboy, Boon stated during the PlayStation Blogcast that they are currently occupied with "Mortak Kombat X," as they have extended their support to the game, even overlapping with the production of their newest "Injustice 2" title. Boon may have confirmed that the game is getting an extended support, though he did not thoroughly discuss about the kind of support "MKX" will be receiving.
Since not much detail have been revealed on what kind of support the company will be providing to MKX, fans speculates that it may be somewhat related to the upcoming "Mortal Kombat X" DLC, titled "Kombat Pack 3." To back the speculation, the co-creator just recently teased via Twitter post that the next DLC for "Mortal Kombat X" will be revealed at EVO 2016.
evEn with the recent announcement of injustice 2 .... we'Ve got some cool mortal kombat x news cOming! :)

On the said post, no official confirmation that "Kombat Pack 3" will be revealed during EVO; however, since Boon is a very cryptic person, capitalizing the letters E, V and O may mean something huge coming to the EVO event, which is expected to be held on July 15-July 17.
Meanwhile, it is also highly likely that NetherRealm's extended support to "Mortal Kombat X" means adding new characters or returning characters to the game. Based on comments and forums online, NetherRealm may announce at EVO 2016 some of the classic "Mortal Kombat" characters that fans would love to see, which includes Jade, Fujin, Noob Saibot, Sindel, Havik, Litara, Li Mei and Rain.
According to Mammoth Gamers, Boon even sent out series of poll questions asking fans who did they miss most in "MKXL," which may be a clear indication that the company may add returning characters to the upcoming "Kombat Pack 3."
NetherRealm and the game's publisher, Warner Bros. Interactive, has yet to comment if any of these information will materialize in the upcoming EVO 2016.
