Four marines go journeying through dark and desolate corridors in search of a creature that is accustomed to the shadows. The hot breath of the beast is at their backs. The endoparasitoid extraterrestrial species' ebony skin and savage teeth glisten. Even through the creature's current pitch black surroundings.
The underground carven is the current lair of these unearthly monstrosities. The four marines are well armed and well trained. They act fearless in the face of this hellish danger. But even so, shivers scurry down the spines of these harden soldiers, for the embodiment of death stalks their fragile lives. The Marines have only one mission and that is to escape.
Gearbox has revealed details of a new multiplayer mode called Escape for the developer's upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines. Escape mode pits a team of four US colonial marines against the monstrous beast of the movie franchise "Aliens," the Xenomorphs.
The mode features a time limited as added pressure, in this time the marines must stay alive and make their way to the evacuation zone. The Aliens mission is to hunt down and slaughter the marines.
There are three distinct types of Aliens seen in the trailer including the Xenomorph soldier an alien that is highly resistant to damage and and is better at melee combat; the Xeno Lurker, a speedster that is the fastest and most agile of the three and lastly the Xeno Spitter that spits acid at a distance
Aliens: Colonial Marines is out on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on Feb. 12.
