Sony has lost another famed member of Team ICO as Kenji Kaido, producer of Sony PlayStation 2 hits Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, has decided to leave Sony, according to his twitter profile.
"I have some news," he wrote on Monday. "This August, I left Sony Computer Entertainment. My plans for the future are undecided as of now, but for the time being I'm going to continue my summer vacation."
Kaido did not seem to be involved in the development of the Ico team's current title The Last Guardian. Well at least nothing was announced. Kaido is the second high-profile name that was on the Team ICO that made the game. Japanese developer, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus producer Fumito Ueda, left the company late last year.
Ueda is still working on The Last Guardian as a freelance contractor and he has spoken about the game many times. Ueda has even cited Half-life as an influence on the project.
Shadow of the Colossus is an unusual action-adventure genre with very little interaction with the environment or people of the world. The only interaction comes with defeating the colossi. Shadow of the Colossus can be described as a puzzle game, as each colossus' weakness must be figured out and then exploited before it can be defeated.
Shadow of the Colossus is regarded as an important work of art and cited as an innovative piece. The game received critical acclaim by the media and won several awards for its audio, design, and overall quality.
