The MacBook Air 2016 continues to be a floating mystery with no word on whether Apple will come out with one or head in a different direction.
The fate of the MacBook Air 2016 was touched on previously here on Game N Guide, which singled out how Apple may be losing interest and refocusing on the Retina MacBook that debuted last Spring.
Belief of an impending MacBook Air 2016 ‘end of life’ ramped up all the more following claims of a tech blogger (Jack March) claiming that Apple is about to ditch the Air brand completely.
Whether Apple does retain or end the MacBook Air 2016 brand is still up in the air and such will not prevent possible tie-ups with new technologies the Cupertino-based company has planned. That includes the one in focus at the moment, a new 5K resolution display.
Word of such comes from MacRumors who reveals that Apple may be working on a 5K resolution display. The rumoured display could boast of up to 5120x2880 pixel resolution which begs to ask if the MacBook Air 2016 or event the MacBook Pro could accommodate such a feature.
Based on reports, critics believe that both the MacBook Air 2016 and the MacBook Pro 2016 will have enough power to accommodate the 5K display technology, futher supported by claims that Apple will be turning to an AMD RX Radeon 400 graphics card for aid.
With the 5K display rumors in the fray, the word out is that the MacBook Air 2016 could come out alongside the 5K display replacing the old one known as Thunderbolt. The best chance for these devices to be unveiled could be in the Fall with the MacBook Air 2016 to be released earlier than the MacBook Pro 2016.
Assuming that the MacBook Air 2016 still comes out, other changes include the removal of the 3.5 mm jack and use the same Lightning port that the iPhone 7 will allegedly be sporting. A fingerprint scanner and an OLED touch display bar will be added.
