Jeremy Lin Latest News & Update: New York Knicks Reunion Dim But Possible [RUMORS]

Jeremy Lin is one of many NBA free agents this Summer though the Charlotte Hornets are looming as his preferred stop. He did opt out of his contract with the ballclub but the move was financially related.

Hence, Jeremy Lin opted out not because he was unhappy but to get higher pay. But while he is at it, he will listen as well to other teams who would be interested in his services.

Lin was able to revive his career last year with the Charlotte Hornet, mostly as the sixth man off the bench. He did have occasional starts since coach Steve Clifford had to deal with injuries to his starters. Either way, the 27-year-old guard turned out a magnificent showing following successive years of struggle.

There have been multiple teams interested in Lin though mostly have come from the grapevine. For “Linsanity”, one prerequisite is a team which he can call home, Sports Illustrated reported.

At 27, Lin knows that he is at prime point of any NBA player’s career. The Hornets are the preference according to a report from the Charlotte Observer, seeing how he enjoyed his run with the team last year but anything can happen in free agency.

Knick’s stint possible but dim

Jeremy Lin finds himself being linked to the New York Knicks once more though he isn’t leaning on a return to Gotham. After the acquisition of Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls, the former Harvard University standout will likely end up playing backup to D-Rose.

Though the prospect of seeing Jeremy Lin suiting up once more with the Knicks is remote, he isn’t closing the doors completely, believing that anything is possible in the NBA during the World Economic Forum in China.

Charlotte Hornets worried?

According to a report from ESPN, the Hornets want to re-sign Lin. But the problem is the priority they have on their players.

Nicolas Batum and Marvin Williams are at the top of the list and the salary the two could get may eat up the team budget. With that in mind, there is a chance that the Hornets may not have enough to offer Lin – especially if other teams pitch better deals.

Lin will begin meetings with other teams starting July 1. Three other teams are reportedly lined up, all of which he will meet at his home in Palo Alto, California.
