Minecraft players were supposed to enjoy better game play with the 1.28 update last June 21 but turned out the opposite.
Rather than enjoy the “Battle Minigame” feature included, the mode ended up crashing on players when players attempted to join public games, Nintendo Life reports.
Such forced 4J Studios to come up with a patch to address the problem and out came patch 1.29. The only catch right now is the patch was released only for the Sony PS3, PS4 and Vita and limited to US and Europe-based gamers.

For now, there is no word on which other platforms would be getting the patch. A version for the Nintendo Wii U is reportedly in the works though there is no official word yet on when it would be released.
Battle Map Pack Season Pass woes
A number of people purchased the Battle Map Pack Season Pass ($9.99) and most are waiting on 4J Studios to come out with an official fix. 4J Studios is aware of the problem and is reportedly on top of the matter.
The Battle Map Pack Season Pass gives players access to 4 map packs once they are ready for download. Aside from maps, gamers who picked up the option can look forward to new Minecraft content up for release possibly by June, 2017 per reports.
Battle Mini Game keeps hardcore players on hold
With the availability of patch 1.29 limited for now, Minecraft players are eager to see how they can pan up against other players. The mini game allows up to eight players, each trying to outwit the other with the hope of being the lone man standing.
The mode can be done on a variety of settings such as a lava-filled evil lair, a pirate cove or even an ancient temple for gamers to choose from. In-game goodies like weapons, armor, potions and food in chests will spawn as detailed by Kotaku, further jacking up excitement among Minecraft players.
Seeing the promise of this new Minecraft game mode, 4J Studios will be pressured to find a way to get the 1.29 patch out as soon as possible – for most game consoles and regions.
