'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' News, Updates & SPOILERS: Karen Gillian's Nebula To Team Up With Zoe Saldana's Gamora?

The synopsis for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" has just been revealed and it is pretty straightforward: Peter Quill and the gang will try to find out who his father really is.

However, one detail in the "GotG Vol. 2" synopsis suggests someone will join the Guardians on their quest. No, it's not the highly anticipated (and James Gunn-approved) Mantis, although she is truly someone to look forward to.

Is it possible that Karen Gillan's Nebula will team up with Zoe Saldana's Gamora in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2?"

The "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2" Synopsis

Radio Times (and several other outlets) shared the official "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" synopsis. An excerpt of the film description reads as follows:

"The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand."

It certainly sounds like "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will find a former enemy becoming a good friend of Peter Quill and the gang.

Could it be Yondu (Michael Rooker), who might not be so mad at Star-Lord when he appears in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2?"

The obvious choice here is still Nebula, who had a spectacular cat fight with Gamora in the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" film.

Radio Times considered all the possibilities and concluded that Nebula will side with Gamora in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

Karen Gillan has previously confirmed that she is looking forward to exploring "the sisterly relationship between Gamora and Nebula" in "GotG Vol. 2."

"I think that we're going to see a little bit more of that, and it's going to be a bit more fleshed out," Gillan told Comic Book Resources.

Hopefully, "fleshed out" means another spectacular cat fight before Nebula and Gamora decide to team up in "GotG Vol. 2." Because why not?

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is scheduled for release in April 2017.
