“Pretty Little Liars” is now officially back for its seventh season and the immediate order of business is the fate of Hanna (Ashley Benson). But before that, a flash-forward scene sees the Liars burying someone while mentioning something about ‘first-degree’ murder.
After that scene, focus immediately shifts to the real world that involves the abduction of Hanna. After being abducted in the season 6 finale, the opening scene finds Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) heading to the police station to report a break-in over at the Lost Woods Resort via Entertainment Weekly.
As this was transpiring, “Team Liars” get a text message from the new villain “A.D.” hinting that “Hanna” was at the bell tower. The gang wasted no time heading over there only to find a hanging body that they initially thought to be as “Hanna’s”.
It was only when Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) noticed that the face on the body was a mask which made them realize that “Hanna” was still alive and well.
But that was only a temporary reprieve since the team were given an ultimatum – that of which was to surrender the real killer of “Charlotte” (Vanessa Ray) within 24 hours or risk having Hanna die for real this time. To prove that “Hanna” was still alive and well, the abductor sent them a photo of her imprisoned and frightened.
Who is Charlotte’s killer?
With the clock ticking, the team try to formulate a plan and figure out who Charlotte’s real killer is. To do so, the team voted on it and the returns showed that most felt it was Ali (Sasha Pieterse) who killed her sister.
Aside from that, the biggest piece tied up to it is reportedly the red jacket Ali could have worn when she killed Charlotte as pointed out on Us Magazine.
Did Hanna escape?
Hanna, frightened and all, seemed a bit loss though a dream gave her the courage to fight it and escape. After getting some boost from “Spencer” (Trojan Bellisario), she manages to escape.
However a new twist comes in the form of the car she stopped for help. The driver “Mary Drake”! As MTV.com asks, is “Mary Drake” So is she friend or foe?
