“Gotham” season 3 will introduce a new character in the mix in the person of Jamie Chung. Chung will take on the role of “Valerie Vale”, a news reporter for the Gotham Gazette as she tries to dig deep on the mystery that shrouds Indian Hill.
For the ones who have followed “Batman” movies, the “Vale” name may be familiar. The first thing that comes to mind is “Vicki Vale," the same character portrayed by Kim Bassinger from the “Batman” film, which aired back in 1989 and the comic books from DC. Is she having the same role in "Gotham" Season 3?
“Valerie Vale” is actually “Vicki’s” niece, something that sets the records straight considering there were previous rumors that it was actually “Vicki Vale” joining the "Gotham" Season 3 via IGN.
‘Valerie’ of 'Gotham' Season 3 a lot like ‘Vicki’
Just like her aunt “Vicki Vale”, Valerie will be a hard-nosed reporter who will persistently try to dig down to the truth as reported by TV Line. Following the hanging plots left from the “Gotham” Season 2 finale, it will be a dangerous and mysterious ordeal for the 33-year-old actress.
Super villains are likely to surface in “Gotham” Season 3 with Valerie most likely stalking Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) for answers until she gets the details on potential threats on Gotham.
Jaime Chung also joining 'Gotham' Season 3
For the ones who are unfamiliar with Chung, she has been around. She has starred from “Once Upon a Time” and has had roles in various movie flicks that include "Dragonball Evolution," "Grown Ups," "Premium Rush," "Sorority Row," "The Hangover Part II" and "Sucker Punch." With that resume, there is no question that Chung could be a key addition for “Gotham” Season 3, which opens on September 19, 2016 on ABC.
Other than “Valerie Vale”, it is believed that new villains will rise in "Gotham" Season 3. That includes the Mad Hatter, Ivy Pepper and an alleged “Bruce Wayne” doppelganger.
