'Frozen' Prequel News & Update: Disney Announces 'Frozen Northern Lights,' A Book Collection, LEGO Animated Story Of Anna & Elsa

Fans of the "Frozen" fever have the reason to celebrate as Disney announced a prequel to their favorite 2013 movie on Tuesday. "Frozen Northern Lights" will tell an original story of the sisters, Anna and Elsa, through books, LEGO animated short stories and digital extensions.

A New Phenomenon

The "Frozen" stars Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven will be together again to bring the glow of Northern Lights back, according to ComingSoon.

"Natural phenomenon meets cultural phenomenon in this all new story, 'Frozen Northern Lights,'" Disney Publishing Worldwide executive vice president Andrew Sugerman explained.

"We're excited to share this new adventure and offer fans great new ways to connect with their favorite characters thanks to a host of related books, digital games and activities," he added.

'Frozen' Book Collection

The publishing company, Random House, too, is going to reveal the story of "Disney Frozen Northern Lights: Journey to the Lights" in July featuring the "Frozen" family.

The book is going to be launched as a "deluxe novelization" before the introduction of a bigger collection of novels about the "Frozen" characters.

In the coming "Frozen" manuscript, a new protagonist is about to join Anna and Elsa named as Little Rock.

Animated LEGO Story

Aside from the book, "Frozen Northern Lights" will also have short animated LEGO stories that will be seen on the Disney Channel, as per USA Today.

The new shorts will feature the original voices of "Frozen" stars, Kristen Bell (Anna), Idina Menzel (Elsa), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) and Josh Gad (Olaf).

Andrew Sugerman described that a "Lego-lized" "Frozen" animated shorts is a perfect project for the Arandelle family for their wit and humor.

He also added that it will be a unique way to tell "Frozen" storyline through the eyes of its own stars.

A TV special of the Lego-lized "Frozen" animated short story will be presented on the Disney Channel around Thanksgiving.
