Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced that acclaimed game designer, director, and Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima will participate in a discussion surrounding the past, present and future of the Metal Gear series during this year's PAX Prime.
Moderating the session is Spike TV's own Geoff Keighley. Something of a savant on the gaming industry, he's worked with G4, and written for Kotaku, Electronic Gaming Monthly, and Entertainment Weekly, among others.
This year marks Metal Gear's 25th anniversary since it debuted in 1987 in Japan, and later North America. The franchise is credited with introducing and emphasizing the idea of stealth to gameplay, over the run n' gun, Rambo style gameplay of other war games.
The one hour event will focus on the history of the franchise - where it's been, and where it's going. The event will be be open to all PAX attendees, and will take place on Saturday, September 1st at 1:00pm PST at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle.
