“Spider-Man: Homecoming” is another reboot of the famed Marvel superhero which will see Tom Holland going solo following an appearance on “Captain America: Civil War."
Many were impressed with Holland’s rendition of “Spider-Man” on “Captain America 3," something that many believed was spot on compared to previous versions.
Tobey Maguire was the first to reboot the web-slinger in three “Spider-Man” films while Andrew Garfield had a couple on “The Amazing Spider-Man” per Screen Rant. Before he donned the spandex, Holland was under a lot of pressure but based on his part on “Captain America: Civil War," many were impressed.
Marvel Creator impressed with Holland
The debates on Holland were in focus until he officially appeared on “Civil War." While some remain reserved, Marvel creator Stan Lee was pretty impressed with Holland’s portrayal. In fact, he says it was the best he has seen yet via Comic Book.
“Oh, he’s wonderful, I was with him the other day. He’s great. I can’t believe it. It’s as if we created a living being to be Spider-Man and it turned out to be Tom. Really!”
Will Solo Film be a hit?
Holland gets the chance to strut his wares when he goes solo in July, 2017 on “Spider-Man: Homecoming”. He will be teaming up with “Iron Man”/”Tony Stark” (Robert Downey Jr.) once again as “Peter Parker” tries to deal with his superpowers and normal life of being a teenager.
For those who caught his limited role on “Captain America: Civil War," “Spider-Man/ Peter Parker” did make a good account of himself.
But like any budding teenager, “Spidey” will need some fine-tuning in other areas such as maturity which may force “Peter Parker” to man up in a hurry.
“Spider-Man: Homecoming” hits the big screens on July 7, 2017 following two other solo Marvel flicks – “Doctor Strange” (November 4, 2016) and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” (May 5, 2017).
