HBO finally released the trailer of its thrilling and creepy new series, "Westworld" just before airing the much-anticipated episode of "Game of Thrones" on Sunday. The science-fiction themed series seemed to live up to its expectations.
The Plot
According to Polygon, the HBO's new series "Westworld" is based on a sci-fi movie from 1973, created by the famed Michael Crichton, who also wrote the book "Jurassic Park."
The story is set in a futuristic theme park called "Westworld." The series is a dark quest for artificial consciousness and its effects.
Based on the trailer released, "Westworld" will definitely be tense, polished and gives off the same vibes from films like "The Matrix" or "Ex Machina." Viewers would be torn between nature and artificial intelligence; what's real and what's not.
If previews are any indication, HBO could have its next great show on its hands https://t.co/pkIjp5Dqcb

"Westworld" is HBO's attempt to get back on its feet after a series of unfortunate events that occurred last year, Salon reported. The drawbacks were compounded more by the stiff competition between Netflix and Amazon.
In fact, HBO needs another series like "Game of Thrones" and the premiere network is banking on "Westworld" to do this. So far, viewers' reception seemed positive.
The Characters
Aside from the fact that "Westworld" is based on the story of the acclaimed director and writer Michael Crichton, much of the anticipation comes from its cast.
"Westworld" has a lot of big names such as Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood and Thandie Newton. All of whom will have major roles.
"Westworld" is helmed by Jonathan Nolan and executive produced by J.J. Abrams. Jonathan Nolan is the creator of "Person of Interest" and is the brother of Christopher Nolan. Jonathan assisted Christopher on "The Dark Knight" series and "Interstellar."
"Westworld" will premiere on HBO this fall. Watch the trailer below.
