Other rumored contenders to make the film were "Bring It On" director Peyton Reed and "Half Nelson" directors, Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden. Reed was attached to 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four movie back in early 2001, before eventually being replaced by Tim Story.
