Anyone who grew up watching "Samurai Jack" would know that there should be more to Jack's story after the fourth season. The good news is, Genndy Tartakovsky has confirmed "Samurai Jack" Season 5 will air on Adult Swim.
But what's the even better news? The "Dexter's Laboratory" creator has just shared the dark concept art for the new "Samurai Jack" season!
Genndy Tartakovsky Shares Bloody "Samurai Jack" Concept Art, And It Is Super Dark!
Genndy Tartakovsky recently attended the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, where he unveiled concept art for "Samurai Jack" Season 5. io9 reports that the creator also shared some details about the highly anticipated continuation of the Adult Swim series.
But before anything else, check out the first image of Jack as he will appear in "Samurai Jack" Season 5.
Yes, that's blood. Lots of blood, some sweat and maybe some rain. The Genndy Tartakovsky concept art confirms that Jack will not be the same after he defeated Aku in the conclusion of "Samurai Jack" Season 4.
So what is "Samurai Jack" Season 5 about? Genndy Tartakovsky shared at the panel that the new season will take place 50 years after Aku's defeat. The series will follow what happened to Jack during those years. Based on the concept art, those last 50 years have been pretty harsh on the time-travelling samurai.
Genndy Tartakovsky also shared an image of Jack's new armor as well as a motorbike. It looks like he will be getting a major upgrade in "Samurai Jack" Season 5.

The return of "Samurai Jack" has previously been reported by io9 in December last year. However, it was not yet confirmed when Season 5 will premiere on Adult Swim. Genndy Tartakovsky has not yet disclosed when the new season will air, but fans can rest assured that it will happen really, really soon.
