Another big name will be joining the “Fast and Furious 8” cast with Helen Mirren confirming her casting for the 2017 installment.
Helen Mirren confirmed her role via Elle magazine, though she didn’t elaborate on what role she would be doing in "Fast and Furious 8" movie.
“I said, 'I'll be in it, but only if I'm allowed to drive if I do drive in it,' " Hellen Mirren said of the her role in the upcoming "Fast and Furious 8" movie. "But we'll see. We'll see how it transpires."
Will she play villain in 'Fast and Furious 8'?
Prior to her confirmation, Mirren did mention last year that she would love to play villain in the "Fast and Furious *" film via Yahoo News.
Right now that is still up for confirmation though the producers may probably end up grouping her with “Deckard Shaw” (Jason Statham) and “Cipher” (Charlize Theron) in the upcoming "Fast and Furious 8" movie.
Potential 'Fast and Furious 8' angle involving Mirren
With rumors still swirling, seeing Mirren align with Deckard Shaw and Cipher could happen in "Fast and Furious 8" movie. A wild scenario could see her calling the shots as the big boss or maybe even Shaw’s mother who seeks help from Cipher to break him out of the high security prison.
Will Mirren be driving in 'Fast and Furious 8'?
As far as driving is concerned there is no word yet if Mirren will actually be doing some when "Fast and Furious 8" debuts next year.
This is despite the fact that Mirren professed her love for cars and the fact that this was one of her wishes should he land a role on “Fast and Furious 8."
"I so want to be a mad driver in a 'Fast and Furious' movie. My claim to fame is I always do my own driving -- I was on 'Top Gear,' and I did [my lap] in a very good time," said Mirren in the same interview with Yahoo News last year.
Mirren should be a welcome addition to the “Fast and Furious 8” cast. Returning are Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Kurt Russell and Dwayne Johnson in what should be another box-office smash.
