Devil May Cry Gamescom 2012 Trailer (Watch Here)

The demons walk amongst us and they are ready to enslave videogamers on Jan. 15, 2013, when Devil May Cry reboot (DmC) hit stores.

The recently released trailer depicts a younger, edgier Dante as he discovers a world of demons and mystic occurrences. The reboot takes place in modern times and it appears that developer Ninja Theory has properly capture the voguish action, fluid combat and style that have defined past versions of the game series.

The game is set in alternate reality from the first Devil May Cry series. The trailer showcases a game that will focus on a strong plot and deep character development. Ninja Theory's version of Dante is a teen able to use supernatural powers, but this incarnation of Dante is flawed and uses bravado to hide his weaknesses.

The inclusion of Dante's twin brother Vergil, also hints that the game will take players deep into the family dynamic of the main characters. The original series centered on Dante's goal of avenging his mother's murder by killing demons, but Ninja Theory's game appear to go deep into the lore of the franchise.

Even in the trailer, it appears that Dante's brother Vergil is hiding some deep, dark secret from his brother. You just get the feeling you can't trust the guy. The game looks like it is shaping up to be a must have title next year.

Capcom also revealed at Gamescom that customers who pre-order DmC from Amazon will receive a Bone Pack that makes Dante's shotgun, scythe and axe into crafted bone weapons.

Preordering the game from Amazon will also net players the Orb Harvester that allows players to "collect hoards of extra red orbs" to "upgrade and enhance Dante's weapons and combo perks faster."
