A new trailer for “Persona 5” recently surfaced with English subtitles at E3 2016. The Atlus video provided some good scenes of the gameplay, new party members and cut scenes.
The “Persona 5” teaser at E3 was similar to the first footage in Japanese, except for the addition of English subtitles, giving fans a clearer perspective on the plot and characters.
Polygon noted that there were several catchy lines from the trailer. The first scene in the “Persona 5” video, which lasted over four minutes, showed the main character appearing to have his mug shot taken. He was being asked about another world. The next scene presented a group of characters running. The others seemed to be helping a character named Joker escape.
The following scene showed the main character walking through the school hall. The narrative explained that he is a new student and someone threatened to expel him if he causes trouble. At least the main character is living a double life as a student and thief.
In the “Persona 5” trailer, the female character transformed into a more powerful fighting form. She said that even though they are just fledglings, they may actually be an actual organization now. Futaba, a hacker, was shown in action helping her friends. After working on a computer, the four characters gained more power. More enemies in the game were also showcased, including one who looked like a human fly. One scene showed the hero battling a wild giant king. The team will also be meeting new allies in their adventures.
According to Siliconera, “Persona 5” will not feature both English and Japanese voiceover options. However, Atlus will maintain its English in-game text and voices for the localization. Atlus stated that several talented voice actors worked on the English voiceovers, while their own localization team provided an English script that offers a faithful and engaging play experience. There are rumors that Cassandra Lee Morris voiced Morgana in English.
Atlus PR manager John Hardin wrote on Twitter that they are confirming the English voiceover in “Persona 5.” There may be a Japanese voiceover although it will be released as DLC.
So, once again: All we are confirming at P5 launch is English dub. I'm looking into the possibility of JPN vo as DLC, but no news there.
