Several fans are now excited for the upcoming release of the newly-announced Xbox One S. Being 40% smaller than its predecessor, fans are now wondering if Xbox One S packs a big punch in its small package.
Features of the new Xbox One S
Details about the hardware the new Xbox One S have been revealed recently. As mentioned earlier the new console is now 40% smaller than its older brother and it has a new colored finish called "robot white," as Microsoft likes to call it.
Aside from the repositioned placements of the USB ports, fans should expect an IR Blaster installed on the upcoming new Xbox One S. The control pairing button is now also placed upfront.
The controller for the Xbox One S also gets an upgrade. Also, Microsoft adds Bluetooth wireless to the controller, giving the user the luxury of connecting the controller to any bluetooth ready tablet, PCs and possibly even smartphones. And a plus to that, a minor tweak is given to the controller by having a textured grip and better range.
Xbox One S price & release date
Reports have it that there will be three variants for the Xbox One S. The base model for the new console is priced at $299 for the 500GB, its midranger of 1TB is priced at $349 and, for the 2TB premium model, it will be for $399.
Now, the base model of Xbox One S would not see the light of day till later this 2016. However, the premium 2TB is now available for preorder in Microsoft's website and is set for release this coming August.
