In anticipation of Deadpool, Activision released a bunch of new screens for the game, due out sometime next year for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The screenshots are posted in the slideshow. Take a look, the screenshots look pretty impressive.
There hasn't been a whole lot of information released about the upcoming game featuring the Marvel Comics character of the same name. What is known is that the game is being developed by High Moon Studios and will be written by regular Deadpool comic writer Daniel Way. Nolan North, who has voiced Deadpool in other media, and will once again provide the mercenaries' voice.
Deadpool also known as Wade Winston Wilson is a mercenary and anti-hero from Marvel Comics. The character is known as the "Merc with a Mouth" and is famously known for breaking the so-called fourth wall in the comics.
Deadpool has several powers including an accelerated healing factor that was artificially endowed through the infamous Weapon X program. Wilson can regenerate any injured or destroyed tissue. His body can also fight any disease.
An unanticipated side effect of the procedure that gave him this power is acceleration of the cancerous tumors that spread through his body and resulted in massive scar tissue and severely disfigured him.
Wilson suffers from a dissociative identity disorder that makes him unable to remember his personal history. The character's back-story is often filled with fake past events and is relatively unknown, which makes him a perfect character to flesh out in a video game.
