In hopes of raising anticipation for the release of NBA 2K13, 2K Sports' has announced the ability to play as the legendary 1992 Dream Team and the 2012 USA Men's National Team.
"You've asked for it and now you're getting it - NBA 2K13 is proud to bring you both the legendary 1992 Dream Team and the 2012 USA Men's National Team," 2K wrote on the game's official Facebook page. "Who would win? Tweet your thoughts using the hashtag #NBA2K13 and make sure to pre-order NBA 2K13 today to answer this question for yourselves October 2."
The controversial question has taken the sports world by storm since perennial NBA All-star Kobe Bryant announced early this summer that this year's Olympic team could defeat the 1992 version of the team. The 1992 Dream Team, as they were referred to featured NBA legend such as Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson and many of the NBA's greatest players.
Now fans will finally be able to see what happens when the best players of two different eras collide on the court, well at least they get to simulate the game in NBA 2K. Lebron James versus Micheal Jordan is an NBA fan's greatest dream. I wonder if 2K Sports has decided on which team will have the higher rating. I know fans are debating this very question right now.
2K Sports hasn't spoken at length about the gameplay improvements at this time, but are certainly adding a plethora of extra content to keep fans happy. Perhaps this is a direct response to the return of rival basketball simulation NBA Live.
NBA 2K13 is due for release October 2 for the Xbox 360, Windows PC, PlayStation 3, PSP and Wii. The Wii U version is expected during the holiday season.
