Lukewarm Media's upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer game Primal Carnage appears to be a mix of Call of Duty and the film "Jurassic Park."
The creators of Primal Carnage have inched their way toward a fantasy that has existed ever since the first dinosaur fossils were recognized in the early 19th century.
The fantasy is of course what would happen if man and dinosaur coexisted on the planet. Add automatic assault weapons and multi-levels of jungle-like labyrinths and you have the game Primal Carnage.
According to the games webpage, Primal Carnage takes place on a military-controlled island, where gamers will choose between five human classes or five dinosaur classes.
Players controlling the human classes will play in a first-person view and control commandos, pathfinders, trappers, pyros, and Scientists. Those who chose to control the prehistoric beast will play in a third-person viewpoint and have control over T-Rex, a Raptor, a Dilophosaurus, a Pteranodon, and a Compsognathus.
Each dinosaur and human class has specialized roles that can be utilized in the death match. The dinosaurs can fly, climb the environment, spit venom, and charge into battle. The games tyrannosaur is so powerful that the dino is limited to two players at a time. But the dinosaur classes can also lose stamina, become weakened and defenseless.
As for humans, the game's site says no one person can expect to survive the island by him or herself and that teamwork is crucial to success and survival. The humans also have guns and can hideout in shelters.
Primal Carnage looks like it may deliver vicious, flesh tearing and explosive multiplayer death matches when it releases. The game will soon be entering its beta phase, while the full game will release on PC during the holiday season.
