Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD Is On Xbox Live And Coming To PlayStation Network

Activision announced through Twitter that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD will be coming to the PlayStation Network on Aug. 28 via download for PlayStation 3 owners. The publisher said a date for the PC version is still forthcoming.

"THPSHD is coming to PS3 (via PSN) on August 28th," The publisher tweeted. "We'll announce the PC date as soon as we know it."

The down-loadable reboot of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, has sold approximately 120,000 copies in its first week on sale, developer Robomodo said in an interview with gaming site Gamasutra. These sales only include Xbox Live Arcade.

"It should be interesting to see the sales on PC," Robomodo's director Josh Tsui said in the interview. "We've been surprised how many people are asking for that."

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD is a skateboarding video game in the Tony Hawk's series of skateboarding games. The game, which is published by Activision and developed by Robomodo, is a high-definition remake featuring classic levels from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. The game focuses on an arcade-style emphasis rather than realism. The objective is to score points by successfully completing various Skateboarding tricks such as grinds, flip tricks, and aerials.

The game also has Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 down loadable content that allows gamers to perform a revert-a trick which involves changing the direction of the board while keeping forward momentum. This game play mechanic is limited in use and only works on the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 levels.
