Neo Geo X Gold Retro Console To Release With Samurai Showdown II Pre-installed

Retro-gamers rejoice, SNK Playmore and Tommo have revealed the release date and price for the Neo Geo X. The handheld system will retail for $199.99 and will have 20 games pre-installed.

The portable gaming machine features a 4.3' LDC screen, expandable game card slot, internal stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The package also includes a Neo Geo X Joystick and a charging device that allows gamers to connect the system to a television or monitor.

NeoGeo X is a continuation of the Neo Geo line of consoles, and expected to be released December 6th, 2012. The NeoGeo X will be the first Neo Geo branded console in 13 years, following the Neo Geo Pocket Color, which was released all the way back 1999. The console will be a limited edition release.

But the best news about the system is the pre-installed classic Samurai Showdown II. The game holds a spot on GameSpot's list of The Greatest Games of All Time and Electronic Gaming Monthly's list of top ten cult classics. At Game Rankings, Samurai Showdown II is rated a 92.5 out of a possible 100-percent rating.
