Facebook Now Welcomes Gamers Livestreaming; 'Doom' Creator Blizzard To Integrate FB With All Its Games

Fans will soon have the opportunity to livestream Blizzard games on Facebook. The social media platform recently partnered with the game developer to let players and viewers stay updated with their favorite Blizzard titles.

Gaming livestream options are quickly growing in popularity. It is a strategine move by Facebook to showcase some of the top games in the market, grabbing more potential users in the process. Previously, players had to rely on other social media sites to watch big titles like “Diablo” and “Hearthstone.”

CNet cited Blizzard executive vice president Gio Hunt in saying that Blizzard games are ideally played with friends, so it is essential for the company to offer features and services to players that will make it convenient and fun for them to share their experiences with each other.

Geek stated that the collaboration between the two companies will feature Facebook Live with all Blizzard games. The feature, dubbed, Go Live, is still in the works. Aside from the Facebook gaming livestream, the PC versions of the games will include a login option on the social media platform.

The login function will reportedly help prepare for more features in the future, including lives streaming “Overwatch” sessions straight into the timelines of players. Friends can subscribe to the streams of their friends and get notifications whenever there are new live streams. Console players and fans can livestream the games using the built-in streaming apps in their preferred system.

TheNextWeb wrote that the Live API of Facebook will be integrated into big titles like “Warcraft,” “StarCraft” and “Diablo,” among others, thereby allowing fans to have gaming livestreams soon. Facebook users can stream directly on their timelines, acquire and share gaming tips and strategies, as well as point out exciting new plays and updates.

According to the Wall Street Journal, millions of e-sports fans are attracted to tournaments and other huge gaming events and tend to watch games online. The new Facebook gaming livestream feature will provide another convenient platform for fans to get information and view many of their favorite titles from Blizzard.
