Square Enix has announced that the long awaited remake of "Final Fantasy XII" is now confirmed for an HD Remaster and it's called "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age."
IGN reports that during the "Final Fantasy" concert last year, they actually mentioned a "Final Fantasy" HD remake -- as they put it -- although it was really more of a remaster. Nothing was really said anything past that, so people never really knew if it was official or just a rumor.

Just a couple of weeks before E3 2016, we got official confirmation for "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age," Forbes reports. "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" will be released in 2017 for Sony's PS4.
"Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" is basically what you'd expect it as an HD version of "Final Fantasy XII." Obviously, if you can tell by the name, it is the International Zodiac version of the "Final Fantasy XII" game.
"Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" is a re-release and it's going to be based off of the Japanese International version of "Final Fantasy XII." Aesthetically, everything is getting pumped up and it looks really nice and gamers will definitely enjoy the re-vamped version of "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age."

The "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" teaser trailer didn't show that much, but for the most part it does look like the original game except it is upscaled to HD.
But not only are they going to be doing that, they're going in and they're re-doing all of the backgrounds, all of the characters, and they also said they they're going to be improving the voice acting as well.
"Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" gamers will be able to switch between either the English or Japanese voices
The "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" music is going to be getting remastered but gamers will have the option to select between the original score and the remaster score.
