WWE personalities Rusev (Miroslav Barnyashev) and Lana (Catherine “C.J.” Perry) will finally tie the knot following word that the real-life couple are officially getting married on September 2.
Following a roller-coaster journey the past year in the WWE scene, Lana and Rusev are actually back as a tandem with the “Bulgarian Brute” now the reigning United States champion. Rusev underwent a turbulent year in the WWE, gaining heat for his inability to carry on at shows.
The WWE turned it up a notch when it separated Lana from Rusev at one point. The fortunes of both went spiraling until the two got a new lease on life which seems to be working thus far for the company.
The ceremony will allegedly be covered by “Total Divas” in what many see as a way to help jack up the ratings of the show. While that remains to be confirmed, “Total Divas” may alternatively show footage of the wedding via different means – a home-made footage.
It wasn’t too long ago that Lana was under a lot of heat for ruining the storyline of her husband-to-be Rusev with the revelation of the engagement. But since then, all the issues involving Lana and the WWE may have already been buried, seeing the “Ravishing Russian” more frequently in shows alongside the “Bulgarian Brute."
The upcoming nuptial couldn’t have come at a better time with Rusev reigning as one of the holders of the WWE’s major titles. Obviously, the “Bulgarian Brute” has been shining with Lana by his side which set the stage for the perfect time to hold that long awaited wedding.
On the other end, Lana is on a roll herself. Aside from the more frequent appearances on WWE shows, the “Ravishing Russian” is set to become a cast member for “Total Divas” season 6.
