PS2 Classic 'Primal' Coming To PlayStation 4

Sony announces next PS2 Classic ‘Primal’ as next title for PS2-on-PS4 service

Sony may not be as aggressive compared to Microsoft as far as bring back classic game titles from its PlayStation2 niche though they do have their fair share of popular titles in the mix.

While Xbox continues to draw raves with its ‘backwards compatibility’ program, Sony has been incrementally adding its share of classic game titles that include “Grand Theft Auto III”, “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas”, “The King of Fighters 2000” and some “Star Wars” titles.

The latest addition will reportedly be “Primal," a 2003 PS2 classic that will append the service catalog effective May 31 through the PlayStation Store. For those who are unfamiliar with “Primal”, the game is an occult-laden adventure game that is also currently available on the PS3.

For the ones who were able to play “Primal” on the PS2, many may recall the game involving a woman looking for her boyfriend, traveling through a series of demonic realms in the process. It becomes the 26th PS2 title to land on Sony’s own version of reviving the good old games from years back.

Gamers, both old and new, will surely want to see how things pan up with the game - considering it has been almost 13 years since 'Primal' was in the spotlight.

Seeing how the many popular games of yesteryears are for the Sony PlayStation niche, there are still a lot of other titles many are hoping to be included.

But seeing them included in the list is not easy, not a cheap process as explained by PlayStation boss Shuhei Yoshida. This is one reason why games on the PS2-to-PS4 list had to be priced in the vicinity of $10-$15 for Sony to somehow recover from the expenses tied up to transforming classic game titles to be made playable on the PS4 console.
