A new trailer of “Street Fighter V” revealed that Ibuki will be launched soon. It will be the third time that the character will be introduced in the franchise.
Ibuki debuted in “Street Fighter III” and was later re-introduced in “Street Fighter IV.” In December 2015, Capcom confirmed that Ibuki will be a playable character again in “Street Fighter 5” together with five other characters, to be added after the game’s launch date.
GameSpot noted that two characters were added after the release of “Street Fighter V,” namely Alex and Guile. Ibuki will be the third to arrive, while Balrog, Juri and Urien will follow soon. All six characters can be earned through gameplay for free. Players who wish to use any of the upcoming characters can purchase a season pass to play them immediately.
The Ibuki Reveal Trailer featured the female character in a blue and white costume. She wore a long ponytail and half of her face was covered with a black mask. She also had protective covers on her forearms and lower legs. The video showcased many of her skills and signature moves against Guile. She is expected to be one of the speedier and more agile characters in the fighting game.
Kotaku said that there is a mouse cursor that interrupts the new trailer. It is still uncertain whether the cursor will remain when the character releases. Capcom is expected to fix the bug immediately.
According to Polygon, Ibuki is a master of ninjutsu and can throw bombs and kunai at her opponents. Ibuki can throw up to five daggers at a time. Her projectile attacks will be lethal but include some restrictions. Capcom noted that Ibuki can now only stock five daggers at a time before obtaining another set immediately. Her V-Trigger is called Tenrai, which results to a powerful blast, while her V-Skill is called IsshakuHorokudama, which lets her throw a strong bomb.
Players can select the length of the bomb fuse to strategize their attacks. Her critical art, once it successfully lands, will knock the enemy into the air before striking a powerful blow onto their skull.
“Street Fighter V” is also set to receive an update in June 2016, which includes a free story mode, with cinematic content that runs over one hour and events that will fill in the plot between “Street Fighter IV” and the fifth game. More updates and details on Ibuki and “Street Fighter V” are expected soon.
