‘Fallout 4’ News & Update: Game Mods Are Coming To Xbox One, PS4? Things You Should Know

Bethesda wants “Fallout 4” gamers to enjoy the game across all platforms and this may very well be the reason why the company has decided to roll out a beta version of game mods for the ones who play the game on their console.

Gamers who play “Fallout 4” via the PC route were able to enjoy the game all the more with the use of game mods but the game console group may soon enjoy the same. Microsoft’s Xbox One will be the first one to try out the game mods, the first time that such will be done.

Per Express.co.uk, The new modding system works using a loading order, stacking mods in a way where they function in a compatible order. Some mods ask to be put at the front or the back of a loading order, to avoid potential conflicts.

The “Fallout 4” game mods can be downloaded at Bethesda.net though there will be a 2 GB limit on storage. This means that gamers will be only allowed to store 2 GB of data at once with no word yet if Bethesda would increase or lift that limit in the future.

Also, players may want to take note about the file saves. The saved files will not be affected but once a game mod is installed, the game will be split into two – one before the mod and another one after. Achievements will also be disabled when mods are in use. The same holds true as well for Trophies, a practice normal for developers who opt to disable these features.

The setup should work to the benefit of users, safeguarding them in the event of problems like potential game crashes or unstable game play.

As far as “Fallout 4” mods tied up to the PlayStation 4 is concerned, Bethesda reveals that they are still in development and that such may be released somewhere in June.
