The Sony Vita ports of Stranger's Wrath HD and Munch's Oddysee HD are expected to hit the portable gaming device very soon, according to a Facebook post on the games official page by developer Just Add Water.
"Oddworld on PlayStation VITA..." the Facebook post begins. "Both Stranger's Wrath HD and Munch's Oddysee HD are coming to VITA very soon, we just need to get them finished up and through Sony QA before we can release them. But I don't think you'll have to hold your breathes (for) too long."
The two games take place in a fictional universe called Oddworld, a planet that is being consumed by the industrial ambition of sadistic corporations. Although the series originated on the original PlayStation, the eccentric game series has since been released on various platforms like Xbox, PlayStation 3 and Windows.
Munch's Oddysee HD and Stranger's Wrath HD are updated version of games that appeared on the original Microsoft Xbox in 2001 and 2005.
The developer has also announced that the Abe's Oddysee HD remake will be released this September. The new game will still be based on the original PlayStation title and will be in 2.5D, according to the Oddworld Inhabitants Facebook page. The remake is being described as a "grounds-up remake with glorious 3D graphics." The developer is also hosting a contest to rename Abe's Oddysee.
"We've considered Abe's Oddysee HD, but that makes it sound like we've injected bigger pictures into the original engine," the developer posted. "We need a name that stands out and does it justice! If yours is the idea that stands out to us the most, not only will your winning suggestion be immortalized in the game, but you'll get your name in the credits."
