At some time last night, the seven millionth user level was uploaded to the servers of LittleBigPlanet, and in celebration, Media Molecule put up a fancy new graphic charting the success of Planet since it was first announced in in March 2007. The picture's a little too large for us to post, so if you're interested, you can check it out here.
Molecule also notes some interesting factoids on the image as well, such as:
- Over 5,000 levels have been created every day, which amounts to about 200 an hour.
- It would take Sackboy 21 years to run through all of the community levels
- Literal food for thought: during development of LittleBigPlanet 1 and 2, the development team consumed over 1,600 bagels, 1,900 boxes of cereal, and almost 6,000 bottles of beer.
On the heels of all this LittleBigPlanet celebration, Sony has also revealed the release date, as well as a trailer for the upcoming racer, LittleBigPlanet Karting.
Continuing the tradition of user contributed content, LittleBigPlanet Karting will similarly allow players to create their own unique racing experience using the in-game editor to customize tracks, karts, weapons and Sackboy costumes, then download designs built by players around the world.
Little Big Planet Karting hits the US on November 6. Those who pre-order will receive an exclusive Kevin Butler Sackboy Costume and Executive Golf Kart.
